In under two months, Marcone Supply raised over $22,000 for HEROES Care. The St. Louis-based non-profit provides a host of services, from mental health resources to emergency financial aid, for military members and their families.
The HEROES Care support system includes sending care packages to soldiers fighting on the front lines overseas. And when Marcone CEO Jim Souers learned about the the program, he set to work dedicating resources from his company to make sure as many troops as possible would have a package to open for the holidays. Starting in October, Marcone raised funds for HEROES Care at all of its 48 U.S. locations and corporate office in Creve Coeur, MO.
The donations raised from employees and customers were then matched by Marcone, bringing the grand total to over $22,000. That money bought more than 550 holiday care packages, each box full of comfort items, foods from home, and notes of appreciation from civilian families across America.
“HEROES Care ensures that those who look after our country are looked after in return. We’re more than happy to help in that effort,” says Souers.
On December 17th, Marcone presented a a check for $22,481 to HEROES Care President Jon Jerome and Vice Chairman Dave Woolley. Marcone Supply is the largest appliance parts distributor in the U.S. It was founded in St. Louis in 1932 and is still headquartered there. Under Jim Souers, the company has made military support a priority in its corporate social responsibility plan, contributing to and partnering with organizations like MSCCN, Fischer House, and the USO.
