As a featured charity in Marcone Canada’s philanthropic work, the ETA Vaughan Women’s Shelter has been a top priority for the company since 2013. In just two years, Marcone’s employees, customers, and business partners have come together on several occasions to raise donations that support the families helped by the shelter.

The ETA Vaughan Women’s Shelter was established in 2009 to house women and children fleeing abuse. The organization also runs an emergency hotline and general outreach arm, providing counseling, referrals, workshops, and other services for women and children in the area.

Combining a corporate culture that values family and community, and the strength of a growing national profile, Marcone Canada has, to date, raised several thousand dollars of monetary and material donations for the shelter. In 2013, a charity motorcycle ride hosted by Marcone netted more than $4,000 in cash and necessities. And last year during store open house events, $1,100 was given in cash and gift cards, along with another $700 in gift baskets and small appliances from partner Electrolux Canada.

“We’re honoured to be associated with such a great cause in our local area,” says Marcone Canada president, Peter Szachlewicz. “With the help of our customers, trade partners and employees, we’re committed to giving back to help make our world a safer, healthier, and happier place for everyone”.

Sharing the same home city as the ETA Vaughan Women’s Shelter, everyone at Marcone Canada looks forward to backing this vital community organization again in 2015.
